New front brakes on the Sunbird. And, a new A/C belt. RockAuto sent me one wrong rotor, too. So, I have to go to O’Reilly’s to get a new rotor since they’re the only place in the city that had one. I’ll have to deal with returning this random rotor to RockAuto later.
Oh, and the ‘Bird’s rear main seal is leaking. Ew. I’m just going to have to keep an eye on that because I don’t want to pull the motor.

R eminds me of another time when it was O’R eilly to the rescue to help fix a rotor screwup from RockA uto-
My brother had bought some nice-look ing Bosch “QuietCast” coated rotors for a brake job. They were the right ones, but I noticed some wobble as he was assembling them. We re-checked the mating surfaces, the bearing, and fastene d the rotor tight, but the wobble was still there. The new rotor ha d so much l ateral runout that it was visible ! I put a dial indicator on it and found .030" of runout. THIRTY thou!
Rather than deal with t he hassle of shipping, he took them to O’Reilly to get them resurfaced at $8 a pop . Too bad it took away more of the coating than the pads would have scrubbed off...

These posts always remind me of the first car I bought out of want not need. 94 Cavalier RS with the 3.1 L82 V6. Fun little car that was.

For the rear main, try adding a little brake fluid to the oil. It swells and softens the seals. It won’t make the leak worse, and might make it better.
